MDCT provides cardiac morphology and complications related to myocardial infarctions such as left ventricular aneurysms, intramural calcifications, intracavitary thrombus and distinguishes mural from free floating thrombi. It also helps in detecting the complications like calcification of the myocardium and pericardial effusion after myocardial infarction.
