Endorectal Ultrasound (ERUS) identifies local staging of rectal carcinoma and allows assessment of the internal and external anal sphincters which is helpful to manage rectal carcinoma, type of resection, and candidacy for neoadjuvant therapy. EURS also detects the depth of rectal tumor and cancer has spread to lymph nodes or other tissues.
