Multidetector CT visualizes the valve leaflets, mitral annulus and commissures. It provides images of the pulmonary veins and left atrium that have a high spatial resolution and also provide functional information regarding regional blood flow, perfusion, and metabolic activity. The use of CT in ablation of AF foci is mainly to evaluate the Pulmonary Vein anatomy and presence of any complications following the ablation procedure. |
