MRI identifies the presence of thrombus associated with the plaques. MRI determines atherosclerotic plaque burden, plaque composition, and ultimately identify vulnerable plaque. MRI visualizes and localizes the plaques in the vasculature. It provides the information about cell migration, engraftment and morphological differentiation.
