Lung cancer is a disease results due to uncontrolled cell growth in tissues of the lung and form tumors. Lung cancer is primary if cancer starts in the lungs and secondary if it starts else ware other than lungs in the body and spreaded to lungs. Tumors interfere with the lung function and interrupt the bloodstream with oxygen to be carried to the entire body.

The Standard Tumor imaging technologies used in the diagnosis of lung cancer are magnetic resonance imaging or computed tomography imaging and PET imaging. MRI or CTI provide information on anatomical changes, but PET imaging can detect disease even before anatomical changes occur. PET imaging can accurately differentiate between benign and malignant tumors as small as 1 cm and also distinguishes between extensive and limited disease.
